The tragic figure of Minamoto no Yoshitsune.

It is often said that the Japanese people are “Hangan-biiki”. This “Hangan” refers to Kuro Hangan Yoshitsune. His childhood name was Ushiwakamaru, but he was also called Kuro because he was the ninth son of Minamoto no Yoshitomo, and Hankan because he became a left-hand guard. In other words, Yoshitsune was hated by his elder brother Yoritomo and fell into Tohoku Hiraizumi. Yoshitsune was so instrumental in defeating the Heike, but he fell into ruin as if he was being chased. In the end, he was killed along with Benkei and others. The Japanese did not feel sorry for Yoshitsune, and the popularity of the Bishop’s love for the priesthood spread.
