Nusa & Tamagushi

Tamagushi are Shinto offerings made from branches of sakaki,—a Japanese evergreen—decorated with strips of lightning-shaped papers called shide. With antennae to catch the spirits’ attention, tamagushi serve as temporary shelters for the kami.
