Byobu

Byobu are folding screens、the name of which originates from the word meaning ·“to prevent wind.” Byobu were used as tools or pieces of furniture to protect certain spaces, much as a mountain range would protect a plain from the blowing wind, and they came to be highly decorated with paintings of various beautiful scenic spots.
