The Eight Views of Ōmi (Ōmi Hakkei),

After the theme of the Eight Views of the Xiao and Xiang was imported to Japan, it inspired local variants, such as the Eight Views of Ōmi (Ōmi Hakkei), incorporating famous sites along the southern shores of Lake Biwa. In this way, this ideal Chinese landscape became a model and a prototype for Japanese landscapes.
